On This Winter's Night - December 6 & 7, 2013

Tempus Choral Society-OnThisWintersNightNothing sets the Festive mood more than the Messiah Choruses.  Join us for an evening of beautiful music “On This Winter’s Night” performed by the 100-voice Tempus Choral Society enjoying the Seasonal classics, the Sacred and some new offerings …

With guest appearance by Four Over Forty– the brilliant a cappella male quartet

Treat yourself, your family and friends (…’tis the season!) to a glorious evening with the Tempus Choir, directed by Brian Turnbull.  Our 2013 Christmas concert, “On this Winter’s Night,” offers all this and more:

Selections from the Messiah.   Because no-one has a handle on Christmas like Handel (an outrageous, but accurate, pun).  Fresh off our performance at Avery Fisher Hall NYC Dec 1.

Christmas Memories (a brand new composition)

  • Deck the Halls (Variations)
  • Falala
  • Gettin’ in the Mood (for Christmas) based on Glen Miller’s famous big band hit
  • Holly Jolly Santa Claus
  • Hot Chocolate (another brand new composition…hot Latin rhythm!)
  • Jing-a-Ling, Jing-a-Ling (originally performed by the Andrews Sisters)
  • Jingle Bells (but not your ‘same old, same old’…this one really zings!)
  • On This Winter’s Night (recorded by Lady Antebellum)
  • Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree (no problem if you want to do the hand jive while you listen)

We’re thrilled to be singing this wonderful music and look forward to singing for you!
