The 90-voice Tempus Choir presents

“Songs for a Winter’s Eve”

Guest appearance by Burlington’s Enchorus Children’s Choir, directed by Catherine Richardson

Join us for “Songs for a Winter’s Eve,” a happy seasonal songfest with the Tempus Choir, directed by Brian Turnbull. Here are some of the tasty musical confections we’re cooking up for you:

Ave Maria.  A lovely choral arrangement of Giulio Caccini’s solo voice piece written in the Baroque era.

Candy Cane Lane.  A sweet treat with a catchy beat.

Christmas MemoriesA romantic new ballad by Rosephanye Powell.

Dona Nobis Pacem (selections).  R. Vaughan Williams’ fervent call for world peace. Frequent key changes make this tricky to sing and a treat to hear.

The Holly and the Ivy. The lilting Christmas tune about Mary and her baby. This version adds rhythmic fa la las, doo do doots, and doom puh dooms to create a delightful sonic celebration.

I Love the Winter WeatherEasy-listening jazz harmonies add spice and sparkle to this cozy-up tune (I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm).

Sleigh Ride. “Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy cozy are we…” Come glide along with us!

Song for a Winter’s NightGordon Lightfoot’s masterpiece about longing for a loved one.

Star Carol.  Words and music by John Rutter, the No. 1 Wizard of choral composition.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.  Up to six-part harmony – lots of Christmas bling here!
